UMConnexion

A free guide to United Methodist resources and community.

ABOUT THIS INDEPENDENT GUIDE

Disclaimer & Terms of Use

Effective October 17, 2026

Optional financial support is for the independent creator’s work. Stripe checkout and any mobile-wallet or other payment services are separate from UMConnexion and are not operated by a United Methodist conference, board, committee, agency, or local church. A support payment is not a charitable contribution to a church body.

Disclaimer

UMConnexion is a free, independent resource guide created and maintained by Rev. Christopher J. Wisener in a personal capacity. It is not an official United Methodist website or ministry.

UMConnexion is not produced, commissioned, sponsored, funded, endorsed, or operated by The United Methodist Church, any annual, regional, central, jurisdictional, or general conference, any board, agency, commission, committee, council, district, or any local church. The creator’s title and church relationships do not make this project the work of any of those bodies.

Selections, descriptions, organization, and commentary on this site are the independent work of this project. They do not state the positions or policies of any church body. Links to organizations, conference selections, news headlines, resource listings, and embedded videos do not imply a partnership, authorization, or endorsement in either direction.

For official doctrine, policy, decisions, appointments, event details, or organizational statements, consult the relevant church body and its official publications. This site does not replace the Book of Discipline, Book of Resolutions, or official church guidance.

Terms & Agreements of Use

1. Purpose and access

This site is offered without charge to help people discover United Methodist resources and community connections. These terms describe the conditions of using this guide. If you do not agree to them, please discontinue use.

Optional Stripe support goes directly to Rev. Christopher J. Wisener and may support his work, operating costs, and personal finances. It is not a tax-deductible charitable contribution or a payment to a church body. Support is not required for access to UMConnexion and does not purchase editorial influence. External payment-provider terms apply.

2. Responsible use

Use the site lawfully and respectfully. Do not attempt to disrupt it, bypass security, introduce malicious code, infringe others’ rights, or present this project as an official church service. You may share links to this site.

3. Accuracy and availability

Resources, dates, links, and descriptions may change or contain errors. Confirm information with the original publisher or event organizer before relying on it. The site is provided as available, without a promise of uninterrupted service, completeness, or suitability for a particular purpose. It is an informational guide, not individualized legal, financial, medical, or pastoral advice.

4. External websites and video services

External publishers control their content, availability, and policies. Their own terms and privacy practices apply when you visit them or use an embedded service such as YouTube. UMConnexion does not control those services or speak for their owners. Listings are provided for convenience and do not constitute endorsements.

5. Copyright and names

Copyright in original, copyrightable site content is reserved to UMConnexion. Third-party articles, photographs, videos, publications, names, and marks remain the property of their respective owners. Their appearance here does not grant permission to reuse them. Obtain any permission required from the relevant rights holder. References to United Methodist organizations identify resources and do not claim affiliation.

6. Saved preferences and privacy

Conference and role preferences, favorites, reading lists, video lists, watched status, and personal reminders are saved in this browser. They do not sync across devices and may be lost when browser data is cleared. No account is required for these features. Hosting providers and external services may process normal connection information, including IP addresses and browser details. Loading remote images or playing embedded videos connects your browser to those providers; this is not a promise of anonymous browsing.

7. Responsibility and legal rights

You are responsible for verifying information and deciding whether resources meet your needs. To the extent permitted by applicable law, the site operator disclaims warranties and liability for losses arising from errors, interruptions, or third-party content. Nothing in these terms excludes liability or limits rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

8. Support This Work

Optional support goes directly to Rev. Christopher J. Wisener and may be used for his time, ongoing development, operating costs, and personal financial support. Contributions are not donations to a church or charitable organization and are not tax-deductible charitable contributions. UMConnexion remains free whether or not you contribute. Payments are processed through Stripe; see our support privacy disclosure.

9. Checkout, mobile payments, and payment questions

“Support This Work” opens Stripe’s external checkout, which currently identifies the merchant as Wisener Ventures LLC. Support is intended for Christopher Wisener’s work on UMConnexion; it does not buy access, church membership, or additional app features, and does not imply endorsement by any United Methodist organization.

Review your chosen amount, currency, merchant name, and payment method before confirming. This support link is for a one-time payment. Available methods, including mobile wallets, depend on your device, location, and Stripe’s checkout settings. Stripe, your bank, and any wallet or payment provider apply their own terms. Any installment or credit option offered at checkout is a separate arrangement with that provider; support never requires borrowing.

UMConnexion does not process payments itself. For mistaken or duplicate payments, refund requests, or other payment questions, use the merchant contact details on checkout or your receipt. Refund requests are reviewed individually, subject to applicable law; nothing here limits mandatory consumer rights. Do not send full card numbers or banking passwords when requesting help.

10. Changes

Features and these terms may be updated as the project develops. The effective date above identifies the current version. Please review this page periodically.
